How to Solve Need Administrator Permission to Delete Folder Error

While deleting a folder in Windows system, sometimes an error appears saying that the administrator permission is required to delete this folder. Take the Ownership of the Folder

  1. Go to the folder you want to delete.

  5. Now select Advanced tab from the bottom.
  6. Now you will the Change button in the Owner section.
  7. Click it and proceed to select Advanced button.
  8. Go inside the Select user or group page, and click the Advanced option.
  9. Click the Find Now tab and choose the account give the ownership.
  10. Right click on the folder to open menu list.
  11. Click Properties from the menu.
  12. Now, go to the Security tab and click the Advanced option.
  13. Click the Permission option and click Add.
  14. Now click Select a principal to add the account.
  15. Click Advanced and proceed to Find Now button.
  16. A list of all the accounts will appear to which you would want to give the ownership.
  17. Select the account and click Ok.

Disable all User Account Control

  1. Press Windows Key + S key combination.
  2. Type UAC in the Windows Search box.
  3. Press Enter and find Change User Account Control settings.
  4. Slide the button to Never notify.
  5. Now restart your computer.
  6. When the method and the task is complete, then you need to move the slider to the Notify me only when programs try to make the change to my computer.

Try Administrator Account

  1. Press Windows key + S key combination.
  2. Type cmd in the Windows Search program.
  3. Right click on Command Program and choose to Run as administrator.
  4. Type – net user administrator /active: yes.
  5. Now press Enter.
  6. Type net user administrator [password] command.
  7. Now, press Enter key from the keyboard.
  8. Remember, here [password] is the password you will enter yourself for the administrator account.
  9. Restart your computer.

System File Checker

  1. Open the Command Prompt on your computer.
  2. Right click on the command prompt.
  3. Now, select Run as Administrator.

Try Using Safe Mode

  1. Press Windows key + I keys and open the Settings of your Windows system.
  2. Click the Update & Security option.
  3. Click the Recovery link from the left panel of the window.
  4. Go to the Advanced Startup section.
  5. Click the Restart button under Advanced Startup.
  6. Select the Troubleshoot and go to Advanced Options.
  7. Now click the Restart button.
  8. Press F4 key from the keyboard.
  9. Now as you are in the mode, so find the file and delete it from your computer.
  10. Restart your computer to exit the safe mode.
